Artist Statement
“Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.”
-Paul Klee

Born in Ithaca, NY, now living in Lewiston, ME, I am a self-taught contemplative and meditative photographer, recording all of my images in digital format. I have found that my camera is simply a means by which I can be more present in and more mindful of my environment, seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary and making it more visible. With society’s distractions it is too easy to become preoccupied, not taking the time to appreciate the world around us and miss how inherently wonderful and vibrant our day-to-day world is. I hope that those who view my images are encouraged to slow down and live their lives more intentionally.
In addition to the galleries within these pages, I am currently pursuing a few book concepts, as well as a number of projects that address social, environmental and economic justice. If you have any questions or comments regarding my work, please feel free to contact me.
